Important Education Centre

Winterthur has developed into one of the most important further and high education locations in Switzerland. the largest and most important polytechnic college in the country was formed after the fusion of «Technikums» (Technical College) and the «Höheren Wirtschafts- und Verwaltungsschule» (Economy and Administration College). The many higher education institutes – from the «Schweizerischen Technischen Fachschule» (Swiss Technical College) to the «Landwirtschaftliche Schule» (Agricultural College) and the «Krankenpflegeschule» (Nursing College) have educated many highly qualified people.

Winterthur is a cultural city of international importance. 16 museums, with important collections from the 19th and 20th century, the Museum of Photography or the Technical Museum, the talented city orchestra and the new comedy theatre in the old «Casino» all display a lively cultural scene.
